The entire world has been veering to the NFT space. Everyone is rolling out tokens from big clothing brands to luxury car manufacturers. Now, steering or rather flying into the NFT space is Dubai-based airline Emirates. The airline will reportedly be launching its very own set of NFTs. These tokens would both entail properties of collectibles and also utility.

Considering the ongoing momentum at which platforms have been releasing their NFTs, Emirates is quite late to the game. But, better late than never. However, the first projects are already underway and will be out in the next couple of months.

Additionally, this platform wasn’t releasing NFTs for the public alone. The NFTs would be launched for both, its travelers as well as staff. Further speaking about the latest initiative, the Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum said,

“We are excited about the opportunities in the digital space of the future and are committing significant investment in financial and resource terms, to develop products and services using advanced technologies that will deliver on revenue, brand experience, and business efficiencies.”

The firm has reportedly been embracing technologies that aid in bolstering its customer offering along with employees’ skills.

Is Dubai the new crypto hot spot?

Dubai has been exhibiting extensive bullishness on all things crypto. An array of platforms have been onboarding several cryptocurrencies for payments. Now, supporting the region’s move in embracing crypto, Emirates decided to roll out its native non-fungible tokens. The Chief Executive of Emirates affirmed that Emirates was contributing to Dubai’s growing interest in crypto. He further added,

Dubai and the UAE are blazing the way in the digital economy, having a clear vision supported by practical policies and regulatory frameworks in areas such as virtual assets, artificial intelligence, and data protection.”
